Job Summary

StarCare Specialty Health System is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Intake Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Intake Department, you will serve as the initial point of contact for Mental Health Intake, providing face-to-face assessments and determining eligibility for ongoing mental health services.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments to determine priority population and eligibility requirements
  • Provide information on methods of obtaining psychiatric advance directives
  • Complete mental health intake packets, including explanation and discussion of client rights and consent to treatment
  • Link individuals to appropriate referrals and provide resource information
  • Review screening/triage documentation and serve as a backup for triage duties
  • Assist supervisor and other StarCare staff with special assignments and projects
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in Human Services or a related field
  • Two years of full-time experience administering the CANS or ANSA is preferred; one year of experience is required
  • Knowledge of human service delivery systems and bilingual skills (Spanish/English) are preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to maintain effective working relationships with individuals receiving services and other employees
