Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at a Multinational Electronics Manufacturer in San Jose, CA. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for sourcing materials from suppliers in the States, working closely with our China team to resolve issues, and maintaining close contact with product engineers to ensure smooth sample POs and spec clarification.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Source materials from suppliers in the States based on weekly supply status from our supply chain management team.
  2. Provide sourcing information to our SCM and US PO representative, working with the team to resolve issues and ensure timely delivery.
  3. Request necessary documents from new suppliers for our China team to set up supplier codes.
  4. Maintain close contact with product engineers and design engineers for sample POs, spec clarification, and second source approval.
  5. Synch up with our SCM and business program manager in case of cost discrepancy.
  6. Work with Strategic Procurement and/or Supplier Management for materials sourced from strategic suppliers.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply, or a related field.
  2. Two years of full-time, wage-earning experience as a supply chain buyer in technology or manufacturing.
  3. Knowledge of forecasting, material requirements planning (MRP), water-fall table, red-yellow-green (RYG) report in an electronic manufacturing service (EMS) environment.
  4. Strong skills in organization, analysis, judgment, and negotiation, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Knowledge of products and electronic components, with skills in looking for suppliers across the whole manufacturing/distribution value chain in electronic component industry.
  6. Skills in conducting independent research and work around obstacles with minimal guidance.
  7. Skills with initiative and ownership, attention to detail, and the discipline to follow through on assigned tasks.
  8. Skills in teamwork, managing suppliers, and getting things done in a non-confrontation way.
