Position Summary:

The Youth Development Coordinator (YDC) is accountable for overseeing the planning and execution of Communities In Schools (CIS) operations at the designated site, ensuring adherence to TQS standards while implementing the CIS model for integrating student services. This role involves identifying and evaluating the needs of enrolled students and collaborating directly with students and their families to enhance attendance, academic performance, and behavioral outcomes. The YDC will connect educational content to real-world experiences, promote positive behavior, foster character development, and help students discover their intrinsic motivation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and lead a collaborative site team that partners with school administrators, educators, and community stakeholders to implement the CIS model effectively.
  • Conduct the annual needs assessment, utilizing data from school districts, surveys, and evaluations to inform service delivery.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive site plan with measurable objectives and procedures for providing targeted services, monitoring progress, and evaluating effectiveness.
  • Coordinate the delivery of evidence-based services that address identified needs, focusing on academic, behavioral, and parental engagement.
  • Case manage students through targeted interventions designed for those at moderate risk of dropping out.
  • Regularly assess and adjust services to ensure maximum impact and effectiveness.
  • Lead the evaluation of service effectiveness in achieving both school-wide and individual student goals through systematic data collection.
  • Support the annual reporting process by preparing end-of-year reports that inform future planning and contribute to broader organizational reports.

Specific Support Functions:

  • Identify students requiring attendance, behavioral, and academic monitoring to support their educational success.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and timely data entry in the CIS Central Office Student Information System.
  • Organize training opportunities for students to reinforce pro-social behaviors and life skills.
  • Engage with parents to support their children's academic and career development.
  • Assist in addressing academic barriers through coordination of health and critical needs services.
  • Maintain regular communication with school leaders and staff to foster a supportive environment for students.
  • Facilitate site team meetings and participate in relevant staff development activities.
  • Apply principles of child and adolescent development in all interactions.
  • Promote positive relationships with youth and adapt activities to meet their developmental needs.
  • Recognize and address potential risk factors affecting students and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with families and the community to support student engagement.
  • Exhibit professionalism and serve as a positive role model for students.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess a bachelor's degree and at least two years of relevant experience in education, social work, or a related field.

Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Google Suite and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to analyze and interpret various professional documents and regulations.
  • Experience in writing and editing reports and business correspondence.
  • Aptitude for effectively presenting information and responding to inquiries from diverse audiences.

Physical Demands:
