Physician Assistant- Hospital Support Specialist

About the Role:
">We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at Wayne Hospital Company. This is an exciting opportunity for a medical professional to work in a dynamic hospital setting, providing clinical and administrative support to our orthopedic associates.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for practicing medicine with physician supervision, conducting examinations, and writing prescriptions. They will also provide hospital clinical and administrative support, manage the surgery center on behalf of Orthopedic Associates, and perform various other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Duties:
- Examines patients, obtains medical histories, and assesses health status
- Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic tests
- Prescribes medications and treats illnesses, including giving injections and suturing wounds
- Consults with physicians as needed and refers to physicians for more complicated cases or cases outside the scope of practice
- Maintains accurate patient records and documents information in the medical record
- Coordinates specialty referrals and provides continuity of care
- Triages patient calls and responds to emergencies, including use of CPR
- Administrative Duties:
- Handles administrative support requisitions for physicians
- Reviews and adheres to hospital medical staff guidelines on scope of responsibility
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and successful completion of an accredited physician assistant program
- Knowledge of medical model, roles of physicians and physician assistants, medical terminology, anatomy, pharmacology, pathophysiology, clinical medicine, and physical diagnosis
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to navigate electronic medical records
Salary Range:
$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience
