Position Overview:

As a Clinical Laboratory Specialist at ICONMA, LLC, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results. Your role will involve adhering to established protocols for specimen management, testing procedures, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement the laboratory's protocols for specimen collection, processing, and analysis.
  • Maintain meticulous records to demonstrate compliance with proficiency testing standards.
  • Conduct analyses using validated testing methodologies as outlined in departmental SOPs.
  • Review, validate, and release test outcomes while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards including CLIA, HIPAA, and OSHA.
  • Document all quality control measures, instrument calibrations, and maintenance activities.
  • Address any deviations from established performance metrics and communicate issues to senior staff.
  • Participate in the reporting of critical results and respond to inquiries from clients and colleagues.
  • Ensure the laboratory environment is well-maintained and organized.
  • Keep track of reagent and test kit expiration dates and manage inventory effectively.
  • Engage in ongoing training and development opportunities, including departmental meetings and safety training.
  • Assist in regulatory inspections as required and perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A comprehensive understanding of laboratory testing protocols.
  • Proficient computer skills and adaptability to various laboratory information systems.
  • Knowledge of quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) processes.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field, or an Associate’s degree in Laboratory Science.
  • For foreign-educated candidates, a detailed credential evaluation from IERF is required.
  • For U.S.-educated candidates, an original transcript must be provided.
  • Eligibility for national certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) from a recognized certifying body.
  • A minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience in complex testing is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients and team members.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least one year of clinical experience in high-complexity testing is preferred.
