Position Overview
The Chief Psychiatric Officer will oversee the administrative, operational, clinical, and educational aspects of the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) and Behavioral Health (BH) services at Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens, Inc. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of comprehensive outpatient mental health services, including treatment for chemical dependence and primary care monitoring for diverse populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Oversight: Direct the psychiatric and primary care services provided by the agency's multidisciplinary team, ensuring compliance with CCBHC standards and best practices.
- Clinical Supervision: Provide direct supervision and guidance to clinical staff, including psychiatrists and nurse practitioners, to enhance service delivery and maintain high standards of care.
- Patient Care: Conduct psychiatric evaluations and treatment for clients with complex behavioral health needs, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
- Training and Development: Facilitate training programs for staff on mental health treatment modalities, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to monitor and enhance the quality of care provided by the clinical team.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) licensed in New York State.
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry.
- Experience in a leadership role within a medical or behavioral health setting.
- Strong clinical skills in evaluating and treating mental health disorders.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals.
