Chief Accounting Officer

Yext, a leading digital presence platform for multi-location brands, is seeking a seasoned Chief Accounting Officer to oversee global accounting, finance operations, and external reporting teams. As a key partner to the CFO and executive team, the CAO will be responsible for the full accounting and reporting functions, ensuring compliance with public company/SEC reporting and SOX requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead global accounting operations, including payroll, billing, collections, procurement, AP, technical accounting, revenue accounting, international accounting, and SEC reporting.
  • Oversee and modernize systems and processes to stay ahead of technological advancements, driving efficiencies in accounting operations and improving close cycles.
  • Scale business processes, systems, and financial controls to support future growth, focusing on continuous improvement and automation.
  • Manage the accounting budget, balancing internal and external spend, and innovating finance service delivery.
  • Create a strategic vision for finance and accounting to support Yext's business objectives, aligning accounting team priorities with company goals.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing global team, attracting, growing, and retaining top talent.
  • Serve on the finance leadership team, collaborating with the CFO and other leaders on functional and people priorities.
  • Serve on the extended leadership team, developing relationships with senior leaders to support new customer products, company-wide initiatives, and business/system process changes.
Requirements
  • Public company experience at companies with $2B+ market cap.
  • 15+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, beginning in a Big Four public accounting firm. Recent experience as a CAO in a fast-growing public company of similar size and complexity.
  • Public company/SEC reporting and SOX compliance experience required.
  • Experience scaling and improving processes, systems, and teams during periods of change.
  • Experience in global businesses, with the ability to build a cohesive approach worldwide.
  • M&A experience.
  • Experience building and developing high-performing teams, with a track record of attracting and retaining top talent.
  • CPA and/or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Preferred: Experience with SaaS.
