Job Overview

The Facility Maintenance Specialist at Faith Lutheran School of Redmond plays a crucial role in ensuring a clean, hygienic, and secure environment for our students and staff. This position reports directly to the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors at the end of each day.
  • Sanitize restrooms, ensuring cleanliness of toilets and sinks.
  • Manage waste disposal by emptying trash and recycling bins and replacing liners.
  • Maintain cleanliness of windows, mirrors, doorknobs, and light fixtures.
  • Restock supplies in restrooms and common areas.
  • Conduct minor repairs, such as fixing leaks and replacing light bulbs.
  • Utilize appropriate cleaning products and equipment safely.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to management.
  • Ensure all entry points are secured at the end of the day.
  • Other related duties to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Qualifications
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check.
  • Certification in First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP), TB, and CPR/AED is required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary; additional training in maintenance is advantageous.
  • Experience in a maintenance role, particularly in a commercial setting, is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Physical capability to lift heavy objects and perform demanding tasks.
Working Conditions
  • Work is conducted indoors and outdoors, occasionally in challenging weather.
  • Exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and communicable diseases may occur.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical activities such as bending and reaching.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds and respond effectively in emergencies.
Compensation and Benefits
  • This position is structured for 12 months, with work scheduled for 48 weeks each year.
  • Potential for additional hours may be available.
  • Health benefits may be offered.

Typical working hours are from 2 PM to 8 PM.
