About the Role

As a Financial Care Counselor, you will play a crucial role in managing patient accounts in accordance with established protocols and regulatory standards. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Completing patient accounts accurately, ensuring compliance with departmental policies.
  • Verifying insurance coverage and benefits to facilitate timely service delivery.
  • Informing patients of their financial responsibilities prior to receiving care.
  • Arranging payment plans and screening for government funding options.
  • Assisting patients in understanding their bills and providing guidance on financial matters.
  • Documenting all relevant information in the billing system.
  • Resolving insurance claim issues and ensuring adherence to Medicare policies.
  • Collecting necessary documentation to support inquiries and complaints.

Key Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • The ability to analyze and maintain professional relationships with patients and colleagues.
  • A commitment to understanding and adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Experience in healthcare financial services or related fields.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma is required, with some postsecondary education preferred. Candidates should have at least two years of experience in hospital service access, clinical service access, or billing and collections.
