Position Summary: The Catering Captain is responsible for coordinating the schedules of catering staff to ensure that all events are executed smoothly and efficiently. This role involves preparing and serving food at designated functions under the guidance of the Catering Director. Additionally, the Catering Captain may be required to transport food and beverages to various locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess workload requirements based on catering orders.
  • Collaborate with event leaders to finalize setup arrangements and address any last-minute changes.
  • Engage with clients to resolve any service-related issues.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of menu offerings.
  • Guide staff on expectations for catered events.
  • Assist in setting up venues according to specifications.
  • Deliver food and supplies to scheduled locations.
  • Serve food and beverages to guests.
  • Return leftover food, beverages, and equipment to the catering facility.
  • Ensure proper presentation and temperature maintenance of food items, adhering to HACCP standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all catering equipment and supplies.
  • Follow approved recipes and production standards for food preparation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A valid driver's license may be necessary. Candidates must possess or be able to obtain a valid food handler's permit and/or alcohol server's permit as required by state regulations.
