Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Catering Captain to join our team at Compass Group Careers. As a Catering Captain, you will be responsible for coordinating catering staff schedules, preparing and serving food at scheduled functions, and ensuring all events are delivered, served, and cleared in a timely fashion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine workload requirements from catering orders and meet with function group leaders to discuss setup arrangements.
  • Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a service-oriented manner, demonstrating complete understanding of menu items.
  • Instruct staff on work expectations for catered functions, help staff set up rooms to desired specifications, and assemble and deliver food and supplies to scheduled locations.
  • Serve food and beverages to guests, return food, beverages, serving equipment, and utensils to catering facility, and ensure proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures.
  • Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils, and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • A valid driver's license may be required, and a valid food handler's permit and/or alcohol servers permit where required by state law.
