We are currently seeking a Metal Shop Team Lead to enhance our operations.

Compensation: Starting at $32.00/hr, commensurate with experience.

Position Type: Union Position

Pre-employment Requirements: Successful completion of a physical examination and drug screening.

General Responsibilities

The Metal Shop Team Lead is responsible for ensuring that their team effectively executes various tasks related to the fabrication of production assemblies that adhere to both Company and PCI standards for certified welders.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate forklifts, welders, shears, punches, drill presses, and band saws.
  • Construct and configure jigs as needed.
  • Perform welding tasks that comply with established Company and PCI welding standards.
  • Interpret basic blueprints.
  • Utilize gas/acetylene torches safely and effectively.
  • Adhere to safe working procedures and policies.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team with respect and professionalism.
  • Collaborative mindset to efficiently complete projects.
  • Self-motivated and driven to accomplish tasks.
  • Proficient in English to read steel orders and blueprints, and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Open to adapting to changes aimed at achieving best-in-class standards.
  • Authorized forklift operator or willingness to learn (training provided).
  • Experience with overhead crane operations (training provided).
  • Ability to navigate forms and trailer beds (approximately waist high).
  • Physical stamina for standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and crouching frequently.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Welding certification is preferred.
Working Environment
  • Moderate to high risk of exposure to various elements.
  • Moderate to high risk of safety hazards.
  • Exposure to jobsite conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather.
  • Ability to work outdoors year-round.
