Environmental Scientist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Scientist to join our team at Elucidate Staffing. This role involves conducting environmental field investigations and assisting in the preparation of technical reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with environmental staff to perform site investigations and remediation, from workplans to final remedial documents.
  • Conduct fieldwork under the direction of a senior scientist to investigate contaminated soil, sediment, and groundwater.
  • Oversee subconsultants, including drillers, excavators, and laboratories, during soil boring advancement, monitoring well installation, and soil and groundwater remediation.
  • Conduct municipal, State, and Federal file reviews to compile data and information for property investigations or remediation projects.
  • Perform Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments and NJDEP Preliminary Assessments.
  • Assist environmental staff with report preparation, including reviewing laboratory analytical data, interpreting, and tabulating data, and preparing tables and soil boring logs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Chemistry, or a related physical/natural science.
  • At least 1 year of environmental consulting experience.
  • Experience performing Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II Environmental Site Investigations, including soil and groundwater sampling.
  • Working knowledge of NJDEP Rules, Regulations, and Guidance documents, including the Field Sampling Procedures Manual and the Technical Requirements for Site Remediation.
  • OSHA 40-Hour Training.
