We are seeking an Environmental Specialist to perform environmental field investigations and assist in the preparation of technical reports. Strong interpersonal and writing skills are critical for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Environmental Staff with all aspects of site investigation and remediation from workplans to final remedial documents.
  • Conduct field work under the direction of a senior scientist to investigate the nature and extent of contaminated soil, sediment, and groundwater.
  • Field work will include oversight of subconsultants including drillers, excavators, and laboratories during soil boring advancement, monitoring well installation, soil, and groundwater remediation.
  • Conduct municipal, State, and Federal file reviews to assist in the compilation of data and information for the property investigation or remediation of projects.
  • Perform Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Perform NJDEP Preliminary Assessments.
  • Assist Environmental Staff with report preparation to include reviewing laboratory analytical data, interpreting, and tabulating data and preparing tables, and soil boring logs.

Requirements:

  • BS/BA in Environmental Science, Geology, Chemistry, or one of the physical/natural sciences.
  • At least 1 year of environmental consulting experience.
  • Experience performing Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II Environmental Site Investigations, including soil and groundwater sampling.
  • Working knowledge of NJDEP Rules, Regulations, and Guidance documents, including the Field Sampling Procedures Manual and the Technical Requirements for Site Remediation.
  • OSHA 40-Hour Training.
