Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Commercial Business Development, Construction Materials is a critical role at Carmeuse Americas, responsible for supporting the development and execution of our commercial short and long-term goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy Development: Support the realization of our commercial short and long-term strategies, goals, and objectives by developing and executing growth strategies.
  • Partnerships: Partner with sales and marketing teams to identify acquisition targets, new lead generation, and development opportunities.
  • Business Development: Participate in cross-functional business development meetings, collaborating with colleagues on new ideas, opportunities, and challenges facing the business.
  • Market Analysis: Support business case development for new opportunities, including idea generation, market analysis, financial modeling, and strategic fit assessment.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain industry relationships with customers, suppliers, industry associations, market experts, and regulating industries to develop and deliver strong, mutually beneficial business development strategies.
  • Industry Representation: Represent Carmeuse at key industry associations and events, attending conferences, tradeshows, industry technical trainings, and industry associations to build knowledge and relationships.
  • Market Intelligence: Be an antenna for the organization to understand market opportunities, competitive landscape, and technology changes, helping to build strategies to best position Carmeuse, our products, and services.
  • Market Research: Build and maintain a deep understanding of markets and players, conducting market, customer, competitive, and regulatory research as needed and providing feedback on opportunities and threats.
Requirements
  • Market Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of the Construction Materials market.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Analytical Skills: Analytical with a logical approach.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Approachability: Approachability.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to nurture and expand relationships.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Marketing preferred.
  • Experience: 7 years industry experience with commercial responsibility and/or oversight, with proven success in high growth environments with past exposure to strategic projects.
  • Presentation Skills: Strong presentation skills (both crafting of presentations and delivering) with the ability to tell a story.
  • Financial Acumen: Excellent analytical skills (ability to both go into the details and take a helicopter view).
  • Leadership Skills: Persistent/tenacity (willing to go the extra mile), Rigorous, and Assertive.
  • Business Acumen: Strong financial and business acumen – must be comfortable creating business plans and managing to performance goals.
