Job Title: Labor Relations Counsel
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Labor Relations Counsel to join our team at the Air Line Pilots Association, International. The successful candidate will provide assistance to pilot governing bodies and individual members on labor relations matters, using their knowledge of applicable laws and Association policies to handle complex assignments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide labor relations assistance to pilot governing bodies and individual members
- Use knowledge of applicable laws and Association policies to handle complex assignments
- Coordinate with department managers to negotiate agreements and monitor contract administration
- Manage FAA actions against individual pilots and prepare summaries of NTSB Accident/Incident hearings
- Handle case management functions and work on national projects in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD), Master of Law (LLM), or similar advanced degree from an approved school of law
- Member in good standing of the Bar
- Five (5) years of related experience in labor law and litigation, with ten (10) years preferred
- Experience in collective bargaining, grievance, and arbitration preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written
- Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate long-term projects
- Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment to formulate decisions and/or solve problems, under time pressure and urgent conditions
