Overview:

As a key member of the Athletics Department, the Facilities Operations Manager for the Meadows Campus Sports Complex plays a vital role in overseeing the daily management of this extensive facility.

The Meadows Campus Sports Complex encompasses a vast 180,000 square foot Racket Center, which includes Tennis, Squash, Fitness areas, and a spacious Special Event Space, alongside a softball stadium, baseball stadium, Rugby complex, and a cross country course.

This position is responsible for managing the utilization of these facilities, coordinating operational needs, and collaborating with various University Departments, including Public Safety, Building Services, Facilities, Risk Management, and Conference and Event Services.

Additionally, the Facilities Operations Manager will oversee special projects, renovations, and upgrades to the athletic facilities on the Meadows Campus.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct management of the full-time Athletic Facilities Operations Manager and the Evening Supervisor.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, evaluate, and supervise all Athletic Building Monitors.
  • Manage the scheduling for squash and tennis courts, special event spaces, and assist with the department's EMS scheduling as needed.
  • Address the daily operational needs of the sports complex, adapting to seasonal variations.
  • Oversee access control systems, including electronic and key locks, and maintain a database for tracking access and key assignments.
  • Supervise facility usage and enforce building policies.
  • Ensure facility security, coordinating with Public Safety as necessary.
  • Maintain risk management and safety standards, taking corrective actions when needed.
  • Manage the upkeep of the mailroom and package room, including stock, deliveries, notifications, and purchasing of supplies.
  • Ensure all facility areas, including locker rooms, are well-maintained and coordinate needs with Building Services.
  • Conduct routine inspections of outdoor facilities and ensure proper scheduling and approvals for usage.
  • Perform regular checks of all areas within the Meadows Campus sports complex and coordinate maintenance repairs with Facilities.
  • Ensure that equipment and supplies are properly cleaned and stored after use.
  • Communicate with building services for custodial needs.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of all building technologies, including scoreboards and PA systems, to troubleshoot and upgrade as necessary.
  • Assist the Athletic Facility Crew with event setups, including equipment movement and coverage.
  • Collaborate with coaching staff to meet program needs within competition areas, offices, and locker rooms.
  • Oversee event management for squash, tennis, and other assigned events, coordinating setup and staff needs.
  • Manage all special events held within the Racquet Center, ensuring all logistical needs are met.
  • Adhere to all relevant rules and regulations.
  • Administer rental agreements for Meadows Campus groups, ensuring contracts and insurance are in place.
  • Track usage, invoicing, and payment processes for facility rentals.

  • Availability for irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • First Aid, CPR & AED certifications.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in managing rental groups.
  • Background in event management.
  • Familiarity with payroll processes.
  • Experience in developing personnel pools for hourly positions.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Excel and design software.
  • Experience with EMS Scheduling.
