Automation Systems Engineer

Position Overview:
The Automation Systems Engineer role is integral to the operational excellence of Green Bay Packaging, Inc.
This position is tasked with the ongoing maintenance, implementation of new projects, and ensuring the reliability of all mill automation systems, which encompass advanced technologies such as Foxboro DCS, ABB QCS, and Allen Bradley PLCs.
Key Responsibilities:
A strong dedication to safety and environmental responsibility is essential. This role includes support for automation data collection and reporting systems, network infrastructures, and the security of automation systems.
In addition to making daily improvements, the engineer will remain informed about emerging technologies and contribute to the vision of maintaining leadership in the industry.
This entails preventing equipment obsolescence while judiciously managing equipment expenditures. The role requires the development and application of participative management techniques, including safety preventative measures, incident analysis, and root cause failure analysis (RCFA).The training program within the division cultivates skilled technical professionals who are eager to enhance their expertise in advanced control strategies and systems.
The Automation Systems Engineer will consistently utilize the support framework and promote active participation. Occasionally, this role may involve training others in a classroom setting.Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred, although relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 5 years of recent experience in a large-scale industrial setting, ideally within an integrated paper manufacturing environment.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required, along with the ability to effectively convey and reinforce consistent messages across all organizational levels. The engineer must be capable of collaborating with various operational groups to meet their needs while maintaining a focus on enhancing the overall effectiveness of operational systems.
This role serves as a resource to eliminate obstacles and empower front-line employees to excel in all facets of process enhancement and variation minimization.
