About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Automation Specialist to join our team at AmerisourceBergen Services Corporation. As an Automation Engineer II, you will play a critical role in delivering robust, scalable, and innovative solutions to improve day-to-day operations, efficiencies, and incident enrichment to our stakeholders and the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement end-to-end automations from requirement gathering/discovery phase to production roll-out.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to guarantee that customer needs are fully met and exceeded.
  • Proactively analyze trends to determine future opportunities to support team and business objectives.
  • Develop solutions using industry best practices adhering to internal standards.
  • Provide technical insight during design and development stages.
  • Clearly communicate project status, risks, challenges with stakeholders; Present stakeholders with iterative demonstrations to show development progress.
  • Leverage experience to bridge the knowledge gap between the technical and non-technical.
  • Build solutions that 'fail gracefully' when encountering unexpected errors.
  • Resolve defects and other performance problems discovered in testing.
  • Support UAT and rollout phases.
  • Work within project planning constraints, communicating any identified project risks and issues to the project manager/manager accordingly and providing inputs to the change control process.
Requirements
  • Typically requires 2+ years of experience in developing, maintaining, and supporting automation.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on Python experience.
  • Experience with Ansible Engine, REST API, or Kubernetes strongly desired.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with 2 or more of the following: Javascript, SQL, PowerShell, and Ansible.
  • Familiar with ServiceNow and xMatters.
  • Familiar with SDLC, SAFe and Agile methodologies.
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of a broad range of hardware and software products.
  • Experience technically leading teams - advantage.
  • Bachelor's degree or technical institute degree/certificate in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • Good analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills to evaluate business problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and multidiscipline team, learn and apply new skills and techniques to respond to business needs.
  • Ability to communicate in English effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Good knowledge of IT and passion to automate it all, motivated to constantly be up to date with the newest technologies and proactively bring ideas to the table.
  • Proactiveness and collaboration.
  • Be open for change and drive/support initiatives to improve existing processes.
