Michigan Orthopedic Center is in search of a part-time Medical Scribe who excels in a specialized and fast-paced clinical setting.

Within the first 45 days of employment, the Medical Scribe is expected to:

  • Comprehend and accurately document medical procedures and diagnosis codes.
  • Independently assist the provider by capturing precise and timely medical information.
  • Prepare charts within the electronic health record (EHR) to enhance the efficiency of patient visits.
  • Exhibit proficiency in data entry through the effective use of technology.
  • Record physical examination findings and care plan recommendations into the electronic health record, achieving 80% completion of medical records during clinic hours.
  • Utilize organizational skills to efficiently input health information via EHR.
  • Generate grammatically correct reports.
  • Assist with injections, suture removal, and other in-office procedures.
  • Adhere to all OSHA, HIPAA, and regulatory standards.
  • Facilitate a successful, patient-centered experience for both providers and patients.

Applicants must have completed formal training as a Medical Scribe or Medical Assistant with certification. Previous experience with EHR is required, and familiarity with orthopedics is preferred. The ideal candidate will represent the practice in a professional and service-oriented manner, aligning with the overall mission of the practice.

Michigan Orthopedic Center has been a multi-physician surgical practice serving mid-Michigan since 1990. We are dedicated to delivering state-of-the-art, high-quality orthopedic care and ensuring a professional, compassionate patient experience. Our fellowship-trained surgeons specialize in complex orthopedic surgical issues, including joint replacements, foot and ankle surgery, fracture surgery, spinal surgery, and sports medicine.

Work Schedule:

  • Day Shift, Monday to Friday

Employment Type:

  • Part-time, with expected hours up to 20 per week

Compensation:

  • $18.00 per hour

Work Location:

  • In-person

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Formal training as a Medical Scribe or Medical Assistant (Required)

Experience Requirements:

  • Typing: 1 year (Required)
  • Medical terminology: 1 year (Required)
  • EHR: 1 year (Required)
  • Orthopedic medical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)
