Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated individuals for the role of Physical Therapy Technician/Aide. This position can be part-time (without benefits) or full-time (with benefits) and requires candidates to meet specific qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare treatment areas for patient sessions by adhering to established protocols and procedures.

2. Assist patients in getting ready for therapy by providing support and ensuring comfort as they change into appropriate attire.

3. Address patient inquiries and concerns, providing reassurance and information as needed.

4. Support patient rehabilitation by applying therapeutic modalities such as heat packs and assisting with exercise routines, while monitoring their progress.

5. Educate patients on the correct usage of therapeutic equipment and exercise techniques.

6. Maintain confidentiality and uphold patient trust by safeguarding sensitive information.

7. Comply with all relevant policies, regulations, and legal requirements.

8. Ensure the availability of necessary equipment and supplies by managing sterilization and organization within the treatment area.

9. Oversee the functionality of therapy equipment through routine maintenance and troubleshooting.

10. Manage inventory of therapy supplies by monitoring stock levels and placing orders as necessary.

11. Contribute to the reputation of the physical therapy department by being proactive in taking on new responsibilities and seeking ways to enhance service delivery.

12. Stay updated on industry knowledge through continuous education and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

Essential Skills:
- Understanding of human anatomy and physiology
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Strong patient service orientation
- Ability to follow directions and collaborate effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational capabilities

Preferred Skills:
- Experience in assisting with therapeutic exercises
- Knowledge of safe patient handling techniques
- Effective communication skills with patients and healthcare teams
- Previous experience in a clinical or hospital environment is advantageous but not mandatory
