Job Summary

Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring seamless service delivery and exceptional guest experiences. In the manager's absence, take full responsibility for the restaurant's operation, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor servers and buspersons to ensure adherence to service standards, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Supervise the service of guests, being attentive to their needs and ensuring prompt attention to signals for service.
  • Collaborate with the manager to establish and monitor side work duty completion, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Manage the bank to PMHS standards, ensuring accurate and secure handling of cash and credit transactions.
  • Review daily communication sheets from previous shifts and prepare one for the following shift, ensuring continuity and effective communication.
  • Conduct regular checks of the restaurant's cleanliness and setup, ensuring that service stands, aisle areas, and tables are properly maintained.
  • Enforce all state, federal, and corporate liquor requirements, ensuring responsible serving practices and proper liquor controls.
  • Oversee staff in cash handling positions, ensuring compliance with PMHS cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Communicate daily with the restaurant manager regarding special events, house counts, and other important matters.
  • Assist the manager in conducting menu classes and taste panels, providing valuable feedback and insights.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to provide clear direction to staff.
  • Adhere to attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis, demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and flexibility.
Requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition, maintaining a professional appearance and manner at all times.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with guests and colleagues.
  • Ability to lift and carry weights up to 50 pounds, as well as push and pull carts of products weighing up to 150 pounds.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; 3 years of experience as a Restaurant Supervisor or similar role preferred.

Be adaptable to change in your work area and in hotel procedures, with a willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones.

Solve routine problems that occur on the job, and ask for help whenever you are not sure how to do something.

Safety and Security

The safety and security of our guests and associates is of utmost importance to PMHS.

Every PMHS associate should adhere to the hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.
