Position: Automation Mechanical Technician

Department: Production

Supervisor: Automation Service Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate automated machinery, equipment, and systems to diagnose problems and ensure optimal performance.
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain various electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Self-manage and prioritize maintenance tasks in alignment with production schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards consistently.
  • Support the assembly, installation, and upkeep of automated systems as per specifications.
  • Work collaboratively with senior technicians and engineers to address and resolve mechanical challenges.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and quality assessments on automated systems to maintain high standards.
  • Contribute to the creation and execution of preventative maintenance strategies.
  • Assist in organizing and scheduling repair and maintenance activities.
  • Keep precise inventory records for equipment and supplies.
  • Follow cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) and safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Fundamental knowledge of automation systems, including process control, instrumentation, and servo-driven ladder logic.
  • Strong mechanical skills and proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Effective problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Openness to learning and adapting to new technologies and methodologies.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational/Trade training or an Associate's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is advantageous but not mandatory.

Physical Demands:

  • Capability to lift and transport heavy items (up to 50 pounds).
  • Comfortable working in environments with exposure to noise, dust, and other industrial elements.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours and occasional overtime as required.
