The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting healthcare providers, radiologic technologists, and patients through various responsibilities, including patient management, organization, and effective communication. Qualifications:

  • Education: Completion of a Medical Assistant Program is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience under a licensed healthcare supervisor within the last 3 years is preferred.
  • Certification: CPOE certification must be obtained within 2 weeks of hire if Medical Assistant Certification is not held at the time of hiring.
  • High School Diploma: Required.

Work Experience:

  • Medical Assistant experience is preferred for graduates of a Medical Assistant Program.
  • Alternatively, 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience under a licensed healthcare supervisor within the last 3 years may be accepted.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is strongly preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • One of the following certifications is required or must be obtained within 15 months of hire:
    • CMA - Certified Medical Assistant
    • CCMA - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
    • RMA - Registered Medical Assistant
    • NCMA - National Certified Medical Assistant
    • NRCMA - Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant
    • ARMA - American Registry of Medical Assistants

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in medical office management systems and procedures.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Service-oriented with excellent social perceptiveness.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning capabilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office and patient management software.
