Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Project Technician to join our team at Gerhart. As a Field Project Technician, you will be responsible for installing, calibrating, and maintaining customer equipment, as well as troubleshooting and repairing weighing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform field services including installation, calibration, and maintenance of customer equipment
  • Effectively work alone or with others to complete electrical and mechanical installs of material handling systems
  • Ability to mechanically and electrically troubleshoot, identify common electrical components, and diagnose malfunctions and repair weighing equipment
  • Knowledge of wiring motors 120v - 480v
  • Communicate findings and solutions to customers while establishing positive relationships
  • Complete PLC panel wiring and troubleshooting
  • Apply safety procedures such as LOTO effectively on job sites

Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of 120VAC wiring and/or DC signal wiring
  • Experience with bending and installing conduit (EMT, Rigid, PVC)
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and P&ID's
  • Familiar with industrial voltage up to 480v
  • Good working knowledge of hand and power tools, as well as wiring practices
  • Equipment operation of scissor lift or boom lift
  • Proven work experience of welding and torching
  • Strong problem solving & critical thinking skills
  • Offer exceptional customer service and communicate effectively
  • Able to bend, crawl, and lift 50 lb. for extended periods of time in a safe manner
  • Ability to work neatly and efficiently under pressure
