POSITION OVERVIEW
Accountable for assisting with a variety of healthcare services, acquiring specimens, performing standard laboratory tests, and aiding in administrative tasks such as managing patient flow and organizing appointments.
Act as a qualified mentor for the orientation of new healthcare support staff and the training of healthcare support students.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Must fulfill eligibility requirements to take the certification exam through Penn State Health approved organizations within 90 days of employment or possess current active status as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required or must secure BLS Certification within 6 months of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
- Prior experience in an outpatient setting is preferred.
