Job Title: Production Operator
Job Overview: The Production Operator is a vital member of the CF Industries workforce, significantly contributing to our goals of safety excellence and environmental adherence while optimizing production levels. This role involves overseeing the safe and effective operation of production processes and related equipment. Your performance will directly influence the safety and emergency preparedness of the facility. This position requires working in 12-hour rotational shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Promote a culture of safety, regulatory adherence, and operational efficiency, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for each task, following established safety protocols, identifying hazards, and reporting findings through established channels.
- Manage valves and instruments to regulate fluid levels, flows, temperatures, pressures, and control the startup and shutdown of mechanical systems. Make necessary adjustments to maintain processes within operational limits.
- Analyze unusual mechanical or process situations and implement or suggest corrective measures.
- Achieve and sustain proficiency in all operational functions within the assigned production area, including process monitoring and control, and assist in training less experienced operators.
- Required Skills:
- Attention to Detail: Execute written procedures and verbal instructions with precision.
- Analytical Thinking: Utilize logic and reasoning to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of various solutions and approaches to challenges.
- Decision-Making: Assess the long- and short-term consequences of potential actions to determine the most suitable course of action.
- Integrity: Uphold honesty and consistently act in accordance with ethical standards in all situations.
- Collaboration: Organize, plan, and coordinate tasks with colleagues to ensure alignment. Build partnerships based on trust and respect, inspiring the team to uphold a culture centered on safety and operational excellence.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively pursue knowledge, skills, and behaviors relevant to the role to maintain and enhance proficiency.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve equipment failures or process disruptions.
- Position Requirements:
- Minimum high school diploma or GED.
- Preferred: 2 years of trade school or college education.
- Must successfully complete pre-employment screening and assessments.
- Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credentials (TWIC) card.
