SUPERVISOR: PROGRAM DIRECTOR / DIRECTOR OF SOCIAL SERVICES

LOCATION: QUEENS, NY

SALARY RANGE: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Community Liaison plays a vital role in collaborating with the Program Director to address community issues and foster engagement with clients in the local area. Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations is required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct regular inspections within the community to ensure clients are not loitering or causing disturbances.
  • Oversee the outdoor seating area to guarantee compliance with the Good Neighbor policy.
  • Ensure that the vicinity around the shelter is maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Keep the Program Director and maintenance personnel informed of any observations made during community assessments.
  • Document all interactions and observations with clients during community patrols.
  • Maintain a comprehensive client tracking log.
  • Collaborate with local community affairs officers to monitor areas of concern.
  • Engage with community stakeholders and leadership to stay informed on relevant issues.
  • Participate in community meetings.
  • Assist the security team as required.
  • Attend and contribute to all necessary agency meetings, including staff meetings, house meetings, in-service training, and case reviews.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree is preferred. A minimum of one year of experience working with homeless or special needs populations is required. Strong communication skills are essential. The ability to thrive in a dynamic and challenging environment is necessary.
