Position Overview:
The Common Market is on the lookout for a dynamic and enthusiastic Marketing Communications Specialist to become a vital part of our organization.

As a nonprofit regional food distributor, our goal is to link communities and institutions with local, sustainable food sourced from family farms.

In this position, you will play a key role in supporting and implementing a variety of communication initiatives aimed at promoting our mission and engaging our target audiences.


Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation and execution of communication strategies.
- Manage and curate content for social media platforms.
- Write and edit materials for diverse communication channels.
- Maintain and update the organization's website.
- Support the design and production of marketing collateral.

Collaboration with the Communications Director will be essential to ensure the Salesforce CRM is accurately maintained and to assist in the implementation of cybersecurity protocols. You will also be responsible for ensuring that messaging and branding remain consistent across all communication platforms.


Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to sustainable food systems, along with proficient technical abilities.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related discipline.
- 1-3 years of experience in communications, marketing, or a comparable role.

- Basic knowledge of cybersecurity management and threat mitigation.
- Experience in social media management and content creation.
- Familiarity with website content management systems (e.g., Craft CMS).
- Knowledge of graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.
- A genuine passion for sustainable food systems and the promotion of local, sustainable food.
