Job Title: Youth Advocate

At First Place for Youth, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Advocate to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the transition age youth in our care.

Job Summary:

The Youth Advocate will provide case management, psycho-social assessment, and development of intervention strategies to support the youth in achieving their goals of housing stability, sustainable employment, and educational achievement. This position requires a strong understanding of the challenges faced by transition age youth and the ability to provide individualized, strength-based coaching and support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized, strength-based coaching and support to transition age youth
  • Develop and implement intervention strategies to address the unique challenges faced by each youth
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure seamless and effective service delivery
  • Provide direct support, coaching, and mentoring to increase youth self-efficacy and goal attainment
  • Document and track all meetings with youth and complete required reporting procedures
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or equivalent required
  • Minimum of four years of experience working in a child welfare social services setting or with transition age youth
  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or equivalent preferred
  • Professional license is a plus
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Must be able to pass a Community Care Licensing background check
