Job Title: Coding and Audit Specialist

Centra Health is seeking a skilled Coding and Audit Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our coding team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our medical coding practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct audits of provider documentation and coding to ensure accuracy and compliance with current coding guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide education and training to providers and staff on professional coding and documentation best practices.
  • Develop and maintain advanced knowledge of Evaluation and Management documentation guidelines, ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
  • Facilitate education and training opportunities to providers and staff on professional coding and documentation.
  • Serve as an expert coding resource to Centra Health practices and respond to inquiries from providers and staff regarding proper coding and coding guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year prior experience in Professional Evaluation and Management coding.
  • Working knowledge of Evaluation and Management documentation guidelines, ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience educating providers regarding coding guidelines.
  • Certified Evaluation and Management Coder (CEMC) or Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) certification.
