Job Title: Behavioral Health Safety Specialist

Centra Health is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Behavioral Health Service Line, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide a calming presence and promote a safe and secure environment throughout the unit.
  • Support nursing staff with patients who have been assessed as presenting a potential risk to themselves and others.
  • Assist with de-escalation and restraint of patients under the direction of nursing and medical staff.
  • Coordinate and execute personal and property searches of visitors entering the unit.
  • Complete incident reports regarding incidents that occur involving patients, staff members, and Centra property.
  • Maintain radio contact with Centra/campus security and assist with outside law enforcement agencies.
  • Respond to code Atlas to manage and assist combative patients.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Successful completion of de-escalation and restraining training.
  • Intense attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
