Job Overview

The Vehicle Maintenance Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the company's fleet maintenance initiatives, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards such as OSHA, DOT, EPA, and ANSI. This role involves providing effective leadership and coordinating the activities of personnel engaged in the servicing and repair of vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develops, directs, and evaluates preventative maintenance and repair strategies for all company vehicles and equipment.
  • Performance Reporting: Keeps Senior Management informed about fleet performance metrics and associated costs, preparing detailed reports as necessary.
  • Policy Development: Contributes to the formulation and success of warranty and policy programs aimed at expense recovery.
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Aids in creating and implementing standard operating procedures for vehicle maintenance, utilizing industry best practices.
  • Budget Management: Assists in managing departmental activities related to budgetary requirements.
  • Procurement Oversight: Reviews and provides recommendations on the scope of work and specifications for significant maintenance-related procurements.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensures prompt and effective responses to inspection findings, maintaining company safety and DOT compliance.
  • Long-term Planning: Supports the development and leadership of both short-term and long-term planning activities related to fleet maintenance operations.
  • Management Support: Ensures timely and accurate responses to directives from Senior Management.
  • Policy Adherence: Guarantees compliance with all RK HydroVac policies and procedures.
  • Team Leadership: Engages in typical managerial responsibilities including planning, evaluating, organizing, motivating, hiring, training, and conducting disciplinary actions.
  • Field Communication: Manages communications from field personnel.
  • Facility Inspections: Conducts weekly inspections of the maintenance facility and surrounding areas to ensure cleanliness and organization.
  • Equipment Checks: Performs daily inspections of maintenance equipment prior to the start of work.
  • Inventory Management: Oversees all parts orders and requisitions for maintenance and daily supply inventory.
  • Licensing Management: Responsible for ordering and maintaining all necessary vehicle state and federal licenses and permits.
  • Hands-on Maintenance: Willingness to engage in hands-on maintenance tasks as required.
  • Additional Duties: Performs other responsibilities as assigned.
