WORK OBJECTIVE:

As a Facilities Maintenance Specialist for our organization, your main duty is to guarantee the maintenance and operational efficiency of our facilities, including utilizing HotSos. It is essential to adhere to your scheduled work hours according to your assigned shift to ensure the seamless functioning of our team and the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and diligent Facilities Maintenance Specialist to be part of our Maintenance Engineering team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in upholding our dedication to guest satisfaction. The primary goal is to ensure that our standards are consistently met and surpassed, contributing to an outstanding guest experience.


• Utilize protective personal equipment when necessary.


• Execute maintenance duties in guest rooms and common areas, including minor plumbing, electrical work, painting, cosmetic repairs, HVAC, and programming televisions.


• Clean, lubricate, and maintain all tools and equipment within the facility.


• Respond swiftly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.


• Conduct daily inspections and upkeep of the property and grounds.


• Collaborate with team members to complete larger maintenance projects.


• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report significant issues to the supervisor.


• Ensure a clean and organized workspace.


• Assist in setting up and dismantling equipment for events and functions.


• Greet and acknowledge guests according to company standards, anticipating and fulfilling their needs. Communicate effectively with diverse individuals to understand and address their requests, providing necessary information and assistance.


• Prioritize and organize work assignments effectively.


• Manage work under pressure while exercising sound judgment.


• Maintain confidentiality regarding hotel guests and sensitive hotel information.


• Interpret readings from meters, gauges, and other measuring devices.


• Focus on detail while being efficient and precise.


• Manage maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as required.


• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are professional and clean, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and safeguard company assets.


• Maintain the facility and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner.


• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Engineering Supervisor or Director of Engineering.


• Train and mentor other staff members by sharing knowledge and skills.


• Test, troubleshoot, and conduct basic repairs on various types of equipment.

EDUCATION:


• High school diploma or equivalent.

QUALIFICATIONS:


• Ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.


• Proven experience in a maintenance or similar role within the hospitality sector.


• Strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Familiarity with cleaning products, equipment, and industry best practices.


• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.


• Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role is advantageous.


• Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and follow through.


• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:


• Maintain organized records of inspections and follow-up actions.


• Implement measures to ensure consistent adherence to cleanliness standards.


• Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and task prioritization.


• Document inspection results accurately, including deficiencies and corrective actions taken.


• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and organize work for timely completion.


• Ability to perform detail-oriented tasks in a high-volume work environment with minimal supervision.


• Regular attendance and punctuality for designated work schedule are essential.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Depending on the functional area of assignment, tasks may require substantial physical effort, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling objects and materials weighing up to 50 pounds. May involve climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, walking, or standing for extended periods.

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Tasks are regularly performed indoors and outdoors, with potential exposure to adverse conditions such as heat, dirt, dust, pollen, odors, fumes, and poor ventilation, as well as wetness, humidity, rain, temperature extremes, noise, machinery, and moving vehicles.
