Job Title: Legal Services Project Staff Attorney Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate individual to serve as our Legal Services Project Staff Attorney Specialist. This role is a unique opportunity to combine legal expertise with project management skills to provide critical support to the Transgender Law Center's Legal Services Project.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in law, project management experience, and a deep understanding of issues affecting transgender communities. They will be responsible for coordinating the Legal Information Helpdesk and Prison Mail Response Program, including reviewing and responding to incoming inquiries, recruiting and training volunteers, maintaining an internal database of legal information and resources, and identifying and implementing improvements to each program's operations.

Additionally, the successful candidate will envision and implement innovative ways to improve the delivery of legal information and assistance to transgender community members experiencing criminalization. They will also maintain and update internal legal information databases tracking relevant laws and policies across various issue areas.

As a key member of our team, the Legal Services Project Staff Attorney Specialist will recruit, train, and supervise pro bono attorneys, interns, and volunteers working on the Legal Services Project. They will engage in limited-scope direct advocacy for transgender individuals and collaborate with stakeholders to advance justice and equality.

This is a full-time position that can be remote or based out of our offices in Oakland or Brooklyn. The estimated salary range is $85,000-$95,000 depending on experience. Benefits include medical/dental/vision insurance, employer-funded Health Reimbursement Account, Flexible Spending Account, Employee Assistance Fund, short-term and long-term disability insurance, 19 days vacation (24 after 3 years' employment), 12 holidays, and flexible Friday schedule.
