We are seeking a skilled Paralegal Specialist to join our team at The Nieves Law Firm, APC. In this role, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our attorneys and assisting with various tasks related to criminal defense cases.

Job Overview

This is a full-time position that requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure. You must have a strong background in criminal law and experience working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist attorneys with case preparation, including organizing files, researching laws, and drafting documents.
  • Communicate with clients, outside agencies, and vendors regarding case statuses and matters.
  • Update and manage online case management systems, ensuring timely and accurate information.
  • Draft correspondence, motions, and other legal documents for attorney review and editing.
  • Compile and prepare documents for court filing, including personally delivering them to the process server as needed.
  • Collaborate with firm attorneys on case statuses, tasks, deadlines, and projects.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of three years of experience in criminal law, preferably in a paralegal role.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with attorneys, clients, and staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with online case management systems and client relationship management software is a plus.
Compensation:

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
