Job Summary:

The Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Direct Support Professional III to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional III, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and maintain individualized treatment plans to promote the health, safety, and well-being of individuals.
  • Provide direct care and support services to individuals, including assistance with daily living activities, personal care, and mobility.
  • Assist individuals with medication administration, monitoring, and documentation.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of individualized training and treatment programs.
  • Document and report significant changes in individual's physical condition or behavior.
  • Provide transportation and escort services for individuals as needed.
  • Administer first aid and CPR as necessary.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of individualized treatment plans.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of individual care techniques and treatment programs.
  • Ability to learn and apply new skills and knowledge.
