Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant Non-Certified to join our team at Mid Michigan Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage patient calls and schedule urgent/emergent add-ons, ensuring timely and efficient care.
  • Support and direct patients for consults and/or testing, and facilitate insurance pre-certification and documentation.
  • Perform routine pre-examination procedures, including vital signs, and update patient records with accurate and objective data.
  • Assist providers with examinations and procedures, and prepare and clean patient areas as needed.
  • Provide complete patient assessments, perform patient care measures, and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and co-workers.
Requirements
  • Technical Certificate in Medical Assisting or equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of medical office policies, practices, and procedures.
Working Conditions

This role requires frequent standing, walking, and postural changes. You will be exposed to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, trauma, grief, and death. You must be able to wear personal protective equipment and follow MyMichigan Health's blood-borne pathogen and TB testing protocols.
