As a Payroll Accountant, you will be instrumental in ensuring the precise and timely execution of our multi-state payroll. Collaborating closely with the Solutions team, you will oversee the payroll process, analyze payroll data, and guarantee adherence to multi-state tax regulations. This role will also involve working alongside our HR department to maintain accurate employee information, stay updated on local, state, and federal payroll and tax laws, and establish payroll systems in new states as necessary.
Your responsibilities will include supervising the administrative assistant within our Solutions team, providing guidance and support for their professional development, and participating in performance management activities. Additionally, you will contribute to our recognition committee, fostering employee engagement and a vibrant workplace culture. You will also assist in planning and executing various company events and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage bi-weekly payroll processing for a growing team across multiple states.
- Execute payroll-related banking transactions.
- Handle voluntary and involuntary deductions.
- Submit payments for taxes, deductions, and garnishments each pay period.
- Update and maintain employee payroll information within the software system.
- Enhance and maintain the timekeeping system.
- Compile and distribute payroll reports.
- Provide exceptional customer service to payroll-related stakeholders.
- Reconcile and complete all tax forms, ensuring timely tax payments in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Oversee year-end filing and distribution of W-2s and 1099s.
- Stay informed about updates to payroll processing systems and changes in wage and tax laws.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data and maintain payroll records.
- Supervise the Administrative Assistant.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in payroll accounting, with 1-2 years in multi-state payroll.
- Proficient in technical computer skills, particularly in Excel.
- Innovative mindset, seeking system enhancements and process improvements.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
- Knowledgeable about federal and state payroll regulations.
- Collaborative and inclusive, ensuring stakeholder needs are met.

- High level of integrity, maintaining confidentiality of employee information.
Salary: $56,268.00 - $74,808.00 annually.
