About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our Finance Team at SFM Mutual Insurance Companies. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality financial services to the entire organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute accurate and timely financial statements and regulatory filings
  • Participate in the annual budget process and drive accurate journal entries
  • Enhance processes and leverage expertise using various systems, networks, and resources
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external business partners to support accounting needs
  • Prepare financial reports in accordance with Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP) and GAAP
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance, or related field with significant relevant experience
  • Five or more years' experience in insurance accounting (Statutory Accounting) or similar GAAP experience
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Insurance industry experience is a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of insurance accounting practices and applicable tax requirements highly desirable
