Job Summary

The Department of Water Resources is seeking a highly skilled Senior Water Resources Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Risk Assessment and Mapping Section, you will play a critical role in supporting flood hydrologic and hydraulic model development and application activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and apply flood hydrologic and hydraulic models to support the Division of Flood Management's Central Valley and Statewide Watershed and Floodplain Risk Assessment and Mapping, Flood Planning and Feasibility Studies, Emergency Response, and flood system maintenance efforts.
  • Provide technical expertise for the development of floodplain risk information management and dissemination systems.
  • Collaborate with other Department of Water Resources personnel, including engineers, engineering geologists, environmental scientists, and staff from State and federal agencies, to achieve project goals.
  • Work closely with local emergency managers, floodplain managers, planners, and local flood maintaining agencies to ensure effective communication and coordination.
Requirements
  • Valid California driver's license.
  • Licensed to practice Civil Engineering in the State of California.
