The Kheir Clinic is a primary provider of critical in-language healthcare and human services support to the residents of Metro Los Angeles and its neighboring communities. Assignment Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Development & External Affairs to lead our fundraising efforts and ensure Kheir is maximizing individual, foundation, and corporate contributions. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with our mission and future goals.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of a strategic fundraising plan with specific, measurable goals to achieve Kheir's budget forecast and future aspirations (initial annual target of $2 Million Non-Federal funds awarded).
  • Establish development priorities, deliverables, and timelines. Initiate, oversee, and execute individual, corporate, private foundation, and major annual fundraising activities, including high-quality proposal preparation, grant reporting, major donor cultivation, and annual fundraising events.
  • Manage public relations initiatives and programs to increase Kheir's visibility, promote collaboration and partnerships, and engage new and existing supporters.
  • Maintain current knowledge of healthcare issues and serve as an in-house policy expert, educator, and advisor.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with individual, foundation, and corporate supporters.
  • Strategically leverage the time and connections of the CEO and other senior leaders to support targeted fundraising efforts, including developing the Board's capacity for development success.
  • Attend special events and serve as a key spokesperson for the organization.
  • Oversee all aspects of development from concept design to record-keeping.
  • Serve as agency liaison for Kheir's Board of Directors, supporting meeting coordination and other Board engagement efforts.
  • Manage Kheir's Section 330 Community Health Center grants, collaborating with other departments to ensure compliance with federal funding requirements, and submit reports and documents as requested.

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of success in fundraising, relationship building, and strategic planning within the healthcare or non-profit sector. A Bachelor's degree is required; advanced degrees are preferred.
