New York, New York, United States Uncommon Schools Full time
Job Description

Uncommon Schools is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Superintendent of Operations to join our team. As a key member of our operations leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing school and regional operations within your region, working closely with our Chief of Operations for Schools (CO) to drive the success of our schools.

The Regional Superintendent of Operations will ensure that our schools operate at the highest level, with systems in place that allow teachers and principals to focus on instruction and academic achievement. This includes managing a portfolio of Directors of Operations (DOOs), who lead all non-instructional aspects of the school.

We are looking for a strategic operational leader who can set a high bar for school operations and achieve that vision by managing and supporting a team of DOOs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring DOOs lead outstanding school operations, including daily school systems, facilities, financial management, food and transportation, student and staff culture, enrollment management, and more.
  • Holding DOOs accountable to performance metrics, such as the Operations Dashboard, Operations Inspections, and Mid-Year Evaluations, and supporting them in improving performance and meeting goals.
  • Building, implementing, and monitoring cross-regional operations initiatives, such as aligned toolkits for State Testing and School Launch, and PD session facilitation and follow-up.
  • Supporting hiring, onboarding, management, and evaluation of all operations staff, including DOOs and school-based operations teams.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and mission-driven organization that is committed to providing a high-quality education to our students and families. If you are a passionate and experienced operations leader who is looking for a new challenge, we encourage you to apply.

Key Qualifications:

  • Passionate commitment to the mission of Uncommon Schools and investment in our vision for being an anti-racist organization.
  • Demonstrated experience with effectively managing, developing, and retaining team members.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills and ability to work towards a common vision with various partners, including school leaders, regional leaders, Home Office teams, and Uncommon families.
  • Ability to effectively and strategically prioritize between multiple high-leverage, high-risk issues; outstanding judgment and understanding of the implications of decisions on schools and partners.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-change organization.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and follow-up skills; ability to demonstrate an appropriate sense of urgency.

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $162,600 to $187,400, depending on experience, as well as comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off. If you are interested in this exciting opportunity, please submit your application.
