Job Summary

As a Radiology Imaging Specialist at Catholic Health Initiatives, you will be responsible for operating diagnostic equipment and performing a variety of technical diagnostic imaging procedures. Your primary goal will be to provide high-quality patient care and ensure that patients receive their diagnostic procedures in a smooth, efficient, and safe manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and perform technical diagnostic imaging procedures
  • Provide patient orientation, procedure explanation, and pre and post diagnostic care
  • Assist patients with basic patient care needs
  • Perform complete diagnostic imaging tests on patients according to departmental procedure protocols
  • Obtain and document patient history
  • Prepare equipment ensuring that it is operational, safe, and functioning according to diagnostic standards
  • Problem solve equipment failure and contact Lead Technologist regarding equipment problems
  • Ensure that daily equipment and room maintenance are performed before, during, and after each procedure
  • Complete all quality checks and ensure that equipment logs are maintained
  • Actively participate with patient testing, performing urgent, emergent patient requests, routine and non-routine requests, and OR procedures requiring radiographic support
  • Demonstrate competency in the PACS process and perform the daily PACS QA process and requirements
  • Communicate with Nursing, Physicians, Patient Care Assistants, Laboratory staff, administrative staff, other diagnostic areas, and departments to ensure that patients receive their diagnostic procedures in a smooth, efficient, and safe manner
Requirements
  • Associate's degree (preferred)
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT (R); must maintain as current (required)
  • Certified by State of Texas – MRT; must maintain as current (required)
  • BLS certification (required)
  • One (1) year of Radiologic Technologist experience (preferred)
