Manager of Strategic Sourcing - Sourcing Operations

Expedia's Global Procurement Group, a vital component of the broader Finance organization, is in search of a Sourcing Manager to join its Sourcing Operations team. By fostering robust relationships with diverse stakeholders, you will be accountable for driving operational excellence and managing the prioritization of new procurement requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a timely and precise triage process for procurement activities submitted through the Procurement Intake Form at Expedia Group.
  • Provide category support, including collaborating with stakeholders to gather complete and accurate project details (e.g., specifications, timelines, challenges).
  • Champion continuous enhancement of procurement processes.
  • Manage administrative tasks and activity reporting as necessary to support projects.
  • Lead contract development and negotiation, including drafting and refining key commercial components of purchasing and service agreements, statements of work, and software order forms in partnership with Legal and other stakeholders.
  • Analyze and communicate ongoing opportunities to optimize spending across various category teams for more strategic solutions.
  • Conduct analysis, coordinate key partner involvement (Legal, Tax, Information Security, Finance, etc.), and execute necessary administrative processes.
  • Facilitate collaborative efforts across multiple products/brands and geographies to develop solutions to challenges.
  • Create, communicate, and implement sourcing project work plans and timelines. Identify supporting efforts, dependencies, or obstacles. Report on any sourcing issues and progress.
  • Execute a portfolio of projects that encompass both large-scale critical initiatives and transactional tasks.
  • Assist with risk analysis to identify potential issues (financial, operational, and/or regulatory) and formulate risk mitigation strategies. Communicate risks and alternative strategies to business owners and partners.
  • Manage administrative tasks and activity reporting as necessary to support projects.
  • Support additional business-related activities as directed by management.
Qualifications:
  • Positive and proactive attitude.
  • Strong understanding of procurement and strategic sourcing practices, particularly in support of Marketing initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical, process-oriented, and collaborative skills to address business challenges.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, along with strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication abilities.
  • 5+ years of experience in global corporate indirect procurement/strategic sourcing, focusing on transactional processes with the aim of transitioning to more strategic solutions.
  • 2+ years of experience managing teams in a customer service environment, demonstrating strong leadership capabilities.
  • Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to navigate conflicting priorities and high levels of ambiguity.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical, and interpersonal skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Process-oriented with project management skills and proven experience in program implementation.
  • A collaborative team player who can work independently while effectively prioritizing tasks and resources.
  • Capable of working with abstract concepts and clearly communicating topics to others.
  • Ability to engage with a complex matrix of partners and businesses.
  • Efficiently manage time to complete work optimally.
  • Contribute to team success: Build and maintain teams, collaborate effectively with peers and superiors, embrace and advocate for change.
