Key Responsibilities:

  • Participants in the U.S. Department of Labor accredited Apprenticeship program will undertake a variety of structured tasks, which may include on-the-job training, coursework, and mentorship, under the guidance of a hiring manager, program manager, and mentor. Apprenticeships are designed to foster the professional growth of an apprentice, preparing them for roles post-apprenticeship. Program Managers will facilitate the necessary professional development path for apprentices, ensuring they acquire the skills and experience required for a fully competent Associate Branch Manager.
  • This SAFE position involves customer interaction and responsibilities that may include negotiating terms and/or processing applications for secured transactions. Compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and related regulations is mandatory. Continued employment is contingent upon meeting all such requirements, including satisfactory background investigation results. Individuals in SAFE roles must also fulfill the Loan Originator requirements under Regulation Z as outlined in the job expectations below.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in finance or budgeting, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Military background in any branch of service: Army, National Guard, Air Force, Space Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, or Reserves.
  • Experience in a customer-facing military role.
  • Relevant military experience in personnel benefits management, processing military personnel orders or transitions, wartime readiness operations, human resources, or military recruiting.
  • Leadership experience, including coaching, training, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and internal partners.
  • Extensive experience in identifying complex financial needs and providing tailored recommendations on products and services.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-driven with a high degree of initiative and accountability.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment across all organizational levels, emphasizing flexibility and adaptability.
  • Integrity and professionalism in interactions with customers and team members.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize competing demands, exercise independent judgment, and apply critical thinking.
  • Proficiency in navigating multiple computer systems and applications to locate information.
  • Understanding of compliance controls, risk management, and loss prevention.
  • Relevant military experience in working with military protocols and instructions, including enlisted evaluations and officer/leadership reporting.
Job Expectations:
  • Enrollment in Wells Fargo's DOL Registered Apprentice Program is required. Apprentices are considered full-time employees within the program and are expected to adhere to Wells Fargo's policies, procedures, and employee expectations.
  • This position requires SAFE registration upon employment. Wells Fargo will initiate the SAFE registration process immediately after your start date. Individuals in Loan Originator positions must meet the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements and comply with related Wells Fargo policies. Qualification includes meeting financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness, and criminal background standards. A current credit report will be utilized to assess financial responsibility and credit fitness, though a credit score will not be part of the evaluation. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements, including additional screening if necessary.
