Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Eligibility Specialist to join our team at the Division of Family Resources (DFR). As an Eligibility Specialist, you will play a critical role in assisting individuals and families in determining their eligibility for public assistance programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather and verify data for public assistance programs, including face-to-face and phone interactions with clients.
  • Review and analyze financial and legal documents to determine eligibility.
  • Utilize automated systems to determine eligibility for state assistance programs.
  • Enter data into state databases and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Highly organized and analytical team player with strong written and verbal skills.
  • Previous case management experience is a plus.
  • Solid computer skills and Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills and case management skills.
  • Independent worker with a self-starter attitude and reliable.
  • Strong customer service background with a professional demeanor.
  • Prefer a Bachelor or Associate degree in Counseling or Social Services, but High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years' experience in a social service environment, state or local government is desired.
