Job Description

BRPH is seeking a highly skilled Project Accountant to join our team in Melbourne, Florida. As a key member of our Construction Services Market Sector, you will be responsible for analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within an organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Analysis: Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy and completeness.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain or examine the records of government agencies.
  • Budget Development: Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
  • Project Budget Review: Review project budgets, analyze variances and present findings to management.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, company policy and customer specific requirements.
  • Internal and External Audits: Support internal and external audits.
  • Stakeholder Management: Work closely with project stakeholders to monitor cost and reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited university with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or an Associate's degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of accounting cycle and project analysis.
  • Data Reconciliation: Must be able to reconcile complex data sets.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient Excel user.
  • Contract Understanding: Must be able to understand various contract types, specifically T&M.
  • Software Experience: Experience utilizing Procore and/or Deltek software is preferred.
  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the US without Sponsorship.
Physical Requirements:
  • Sedentary Work: The work is semi-sedentary work and requires the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Manual Dexterity: Manual dexterity, hearing, mental acuity, typing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
  • Stress Management: Ability to control behavior when encountering stressful situations or short deadlines and to maintain a high level of concentration.
  • Communication: Ability to print and draw letters, numbers, words, characters, and symbols that are legible and understood by others.
  • Learning Ability: Ability to learn complex tasks and remember how to complete tasks without assistance once trained.
