Job Title: Counselor

Sanctuary for Families is seeking a skilled Counselor to provide comprehensive trauma-informed counseling services to adult survivors of domestic violence, trafficking, and other forms of gender-based violence.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct evidence-based assessments and psycho-social interviews to identify clients' needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Provide individual and group counseling services, focusing on trauma-informed care and strengths-based perspectives to help clients process, cope, and heal from experiences of gender-based violence.
  • Develop and implement safety plans, crisis intervention strategies, and advocacy services to support clients' well-being and empowerment.
  • Collaborate with community organizations and institutions to provide outreach and training on trauma-related and gender-based violence issues.
  • Maintain accurate case records and utilize internal database systems to track direct services and outreach events.
Requirements:
  • Licensure or limited permit to provide therapy/counseling services.
  • Experience working with adult survivors of domestic violence, trafficking, and other forms of gender-based violence.
  • Strong understanding of trauma, violence prevention, and victimization.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Fluency in English, with proficiency in additional community languages a plus.
