About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management/VBE Coordinator to join our Global Engineering team in Houston, TX or Geismar, LA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate and execute value based engineering and risk management activities for BASFs North American portfolio of large capital project investments.
  • Champion the BASF capital project value based engineering and risk management processes and ensure their continued development and implementation within BASFs global project processes.
  • Provide tailored risk management support to North American large capital projects throughout their lifecycles, including performing duties as Risk Facilitator or Risk Manager, as necessary.
  • Enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of scope and execution strategies of North American large capital projects through disciplined implementation of the value based engineering process.
  • Collaborate with counterparts from each region globally to define BASF requirements, processes, and tools for risk management and value based engineering.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline (preferably Chemical or Mechanical Engineering).
  • Extensive experience successfully managing capital projects valued in excess of $5M ($25M preferred) in the process industries.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strong understanding of capital project risks and mitigation strategies.
